Summer, Family and Sharing the Stories

Summer is here!

If you’re a Southerner, school has been out since before Memorial Day and July 4th marks summer’s halfway point. On the other hand, if you’re a Northerner, the Fourth marks summer’s beginning. (Interesting, eh? I realized this dichotomy in a conversation with my friend who grew up in Memphis, whereas I was a child in New England and the Midwest.)

Regardless of your orientation, for many of us summer means family time – vacations and reunions that include visits with grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Families – that often wonderful, usually stressful assortment of folks whom we love, count on and yes, drive us crazy.
