Help! I’m Drowning in Photos on My Phone!

Help! I need a hand here …

Dear Jiffy,

Help! My photos are taking over my phone! I scroll and scroll in Photos and I can’t find the one I’m looking for. Plus, I’m running out of storage space.

Sincerely, Drowning in Photos

Dear Drowning,

I’m here to the rescue and it’s simple: delete, delete, delete!

Starting today, after you’ve taken a bunch (like on vacation), when you’re sent photos by text or email,  and once a week, go through your photos and decide right then if a photo is a Keeper or not. (Keepers are only those you’d be devastated to lose – a high bar.) Most won’t be, so delete right now.

It’s hard, but don’t give into the “I don’t know—I’ll do it later” syndrome – that is how you got so many photos in the first place. Do it now, don’t worry and don’t look back. You have plenty of pictures to tell your story and then you can find the one you’re looking for.

Oh, and delete the photo of where you parked your car once you’re back in it.

Sincerely, your former lifeguard,  Jiffy
